I’m pretty sure that is a rumor or misconception. The games I play run smooth as butter, with no load time issues at all. The compatibility should be fine too, only the 7500x series has a long list of incompatible games.

You can, but only on the earliest 9000x models that still have the 2.20 BIOS. They are recognized by the date code, the ones starting with 7, and 8A and 8B are FMCB compatible (see pic). Every other date code won’t work, because they have 2.30.

if the highlighted bit on your scph-9xxxx says 8a or 8b, softmodding (FMCB) works. 8c is hit or miss and depends on your bios.
