No one said anything about being a weeb dumb troglodyte, the point is the creator's vision of Sonic is all that matters and he never wanted him to be Mario but not some generic shonen ripoff. He's at best a mix of popular American icons Ohshima grew up with, that being Felix, Mickey, Looney Tunes and even Superman. Oshima is peak westaboo if anything.

Doesn't even make sense zoomers think otherwise about Mario since he's literally created from Popeye ffs. Neither of these mascots are Japanese but just because the 90s went bart simpsons hipster doesn't mean any character with attitude wants to tell you to eat shorts or go to hell. That's not the same as "having attitude" and is why edgy is not the correct word to use at all, post modern or original meaning which has nothing to do with being "dark" in the first palce.

It's fun actually tried to find them and collect them. It takes SKILL and mastery of your gameplay to do this, and most of them by the 2/5th point of the game tests the player into getting to them. SA1/2 hunting stages are just "fly around randomly until you find it, gg no re.

In fact I'm now just realizing just how shit these fucking stages are with how no badnik, no power up, none of the level design actually complements collecting these Emeralds. The only level that kinda does test you is that one Rouge level in a prison. everything else is just hurr durr I go vroom in random directions.
