I don't see anything wrong with this. An extra mode with harder bosses would be fine, and a boss rush mode that lets you fight them wouldn't be an issue.

I love this kind of thing, so I'd be happy to see the little flavor text HAL would give 64's weirder bosses like Pix, HR-H and Zero Two.

I do think you're into something about KSSU changing/focusing the direction of the series, but I'd say it was for the better. I played KSSU before the original Super Star (and while I love KSSU's new modes, I find myself playing the original more often) and absolutely adore the newer games. I love boss rush modes so the new games scratch that itch for me.

I agree it would feel weird if a remake of 64 incorporated the new norms that have become standard for the series, but I'd welcome them if we ever do get a remake.
