So! I am embarking on a project to make some new music for Doom. The idea is, "Doom Music The Way Bobby Prince Did It." The idea is to take a bunch of cuts from the same bands and the same era, as well as a bunch of new compositions, and make them in the same MIDI style that the original game tunes were in. Ideally, this would be a soundtrack to "Doom the way I'd Did It."

I'm an accomplished musician in the traditional sense; I write and record my own material. It's mostly thrash metal. I play guitar, bass, etc. I'm confident in my abilities to write the actual songs and to do them in MIDI format (with some learning and trial & error.)

So far I have about 3-4 songs vaguely written (in that I have some ways that I'm going to rip the riffs off) so I should be able to crank this out pretty fast. What's everybody think of this? What albums/songs should I include? Note that I'm not putting in anything pre-1993, or maybe even pre-1992.
