Sprite or 3D? You're right about sprites, other games do it better on PS1. 3D? I disagree. Xenogears has plenty of TEXTURED polygons all throughout. The fact they went with 2D sprites allowed them to make richer environments.

You can play Xenogears scaled up and still have gorgeous scenery, while scaling up ANY Final Fantasy for the PS1 will turn into a blurry mess. How on earth can you say prerendered backgrounds are superior graphics to full 3D environments?

Don't whine about texture warping either, almost NOBODY got around the texture warping problem inherent to PS1 triangles.
