Higher res for low-res textures is kind of meaningless. At best you'd just get sharper edges and cleaner models, they'd still look blurry and outdated.

It's the master console. This was it lads, this was when video gaming peaked. It will never get any better than this.

I just did 2:36, look at the helicopter blades, look at the genome soldier on the platform, look at everything. The PC version has no effects, and the PS1 version has a lot of them. It's all over this video, surprised you can't spot it.
