It's true, you should all try to have a relationship with your father before it's too late.
My old man doesn't ever pick up video games except for like guitarsmith but he's always fascinated by the video technology for some reason, like he thinks the line doublers and component to HDMI converter type stuff are super interesting weirdly.
I love my dad, I've lived away from home for close to 10 years now but I still try to call my parents once or twice a week and visit as often as I can. My dad's getting a bit older and hes starting to slow down and forget stuff so I know I don't have forever to spend time with him, but I know he's over the top mega proud of me and I tell him I love him every chance I get.
