Figured it might be worth pointing out though if you have the toploading NES-101 instead of the original model, that one ONLY has RF on the back, no composite.

In terms of putting it in. Famicom carts feel so bad. NES VCR is not bad. NES Jr, MS, SNES, N64. For taking it out.... I think NES Jr and N64 feel best to me? Tough one. I do like the famicom eject button though aha.

Is this the best version of the Nintendo Entertainment System?

Nintendo launched a new NES model during the mid 90's. It had a much comfier controller.

Anyone else here play their NES games on one of these bad boys? The RF-only sucks but I'm willing to put up with it for that pure reliability. It's super nice to be able to play a NES game without having to worry about it shitting itself due to faulty connectors.

They're all hard loaded.
Instead of expansions, they just sell an NES Mini 2 with 30 more games.

White trash kids had those dumb as Nintendos that came out about ten years after Nintendo came out.

Unlike the SNES which was pretty much region free, the Famicom has 60 pin cartridges while the NES has 72.
If you really don't want a Famicom, you can buy a NES 101 and a converter cartridge to play Famicom games on it. But honestly your best bet is just pick up both a Famicom and an NES.

Hello /vr/
My nes went out recently and Instead of getting a new toaster I thought i'd try a nes top loader instead, but first I had a few question maybe you could help me with before I finally decide:

-are the nes 101 vertical lines that bad?
-does the composite video mod fix this issue?
-How about the famicom av? is it region free?

thanks guys

I did not care for the SNES redesign, but the model 2 NES is quite good looking.
