What's with all the brainlets shitting on Sonic 3? It's objectively the best Sonic game. Sonic 2 was alright I guess but the lack of a save feature is what kills it for me, it was the 90's. If Super Mario World could save 2 years earlier then Sega had no excuse.

Not having a save feature makes Super Sonic worthless. You go through all that shit to get the chaos emeralds but if you aren't able to finish the game in one sitting afterwards then you're fucked. The special stages in Sonic 2 are total ass, worst in the series. Sonic 1 and 3' are challenging in a fun way and are easier to access so there's plenty of opportunities to practice the special stages. Sonic 2's special stages have you running around the level collecting rings for 5 minutes and then you need to find a fucking checkpoint, absolute bullshit game design.

Sonic 1 was radical, Sonic 2 was fine, Sonic 3 and knuckles improved upon the formula in every conceivable way.
