Guy with non divorced parents here. We asked for a Genesis because of Sonic. This was the early 90s so the Genesis was top dog in many ways. The stigma that poor kids and blacks owned the Genesis over the SNES does mostly hold true from my experience. The Genesis was the cheaper option and had a ton of sports titles that normies ate up.

Haven't played Rampage but the other JP is alright especially when playing as the raptor. Wouldn't call it shit but also wouldn't recommend to someone trying to play the best the system has to offer.

This^^^. Nothing wrong with the 3 button. It was fine for the time it came out. If I had to rank:

6-button > SNES > NES = 3-Button

Sega then perfected the 6-button on the Saturn and no controller has topped it since.
