i understand. it (the wad) just seems to be aimed at those dudes with the weeb/anime/waifu display pictures on the doomworld forums who look down on people who dont know nothing other than waking up and playing doom and sunlust while masturbating. and then they can say, look, sunlust is easy pal. i get it. its cool. ive been playing since what. 97 or something? great. look at me. im old. i cant switch like i used to and i definitely dont masturbate like i used to.

anyway. what i have a problem with is the design approach and attitude. overall i just think its a generational thing. ie slaughter maps (i just dont understand the divergence within the community toward something like this) have become so popular over the past few years and there are so many. but its hold W or die, basically. feels like a cookie clicker game, pure grinding.

i like wads well constructed with good balance, lots of care, attention, and respect. i just think sunlust lacks the last bit. i dont get this with sunlust, respect i mean. its again, like im being given the middle finger by some 18 year olds, and its incredibly unforgiving, just designed to annoy people. like i wander into a room sometimes and i either have to cross my fingers and hope RNG actually works in my favour. then when it doesnt i hold me hands up and go, well ok. attempt 49. it makes me question what even makes it fun on UV.

and the reason i dont go down to HMP is because there are plenty of occasions where UV is really engaging and actually pretty exhilirating. but then i move onto the next level and its just a different kettle of fish entirely. completely off whack. but then its obviously not built for people like me. i wish i could enjoy it.
