It was genuinely surreal. I got Tomb Raider with it and at first making sense of what I was even looking at was weird. I'd played 3D games on PC but it felt very different and strange. For a day I thought I'd made a mistake but then it all kinda clicked and the visuals suddenly all made I ended uo loving the game.

The GBC had a ton of shovelware, but that's because it had a ton of everything. In an age when 2D graphics seemed to be being abandoned and shitty blocky 3D was everywhere, here was a portable NES on steroids with a massive library

I never played it because I can't bring myself to care about Spider-Man, but I'll give it the tangential support that similarly no one gives love to the GBA Tom Raider, which is a surprisingly good Prince of Persia clone.
