So I know King of Fighters does not share the continuity of the games it lifts characters from, it's the explaination for why Art of Fighting characters can co-exist with Garou characters without being in their 50's.

However, from what I understand some of their games still happened happened in the KOF universe, but what sense does that make when the entire narrative for those games hinges on them being in different decades? Did Geese kill Jeph the same year Terry defeated him and then Terry trained Rock right away so Garou could happen the very next year? That makes no sense at all!
