I mean we still have some mid level and indies making amazing games but yeah as soon as games stopped being made by designers and started being made by big teams, suits learned how to exploit the medium. It was inevitable but videogames are still struggling in a sense.

And its the blame of some developers, A game with the aspirations of Arkane Prey is at the same time incredible they tried to make a modern SS\looking glass game, but the game feels also so hampered by either time money and maybe publisher pressure. Just an example.

I cant put my finger on what is going on in 2019 with games. Maybe it was always meant to explode into mindless multiplayer hamster wheels like the incoming diablo.

Maybe I was only every optimistic about something as trivial and a bit ephemeral as tech like videogames. Most people dont give a shit about some old game from the 90s, just like most music fans dont give a fuck about some obscure prog band.

We should take what we get, enjoy it, maybe even learn how to make it ourselves. Maybe I am even being a big bay, like very medium creative spurts, and legendary games only come once in a while not every year.

End blog rant sorry.
