This is probably pretty well known (especially as it's become one of the most well-known speedrun games) but you can backwards-bump your way through 4-2 on SMB enough to switch the exit zone (vine leading to the worlds 6-8 warp) to one of the piranha plants, and it skips the entire vine climbing cut-scene and overall saves a bit of time. I don't even speedrun enough to ever practically use it but it's always cool to pull off
