There is tons of it, but it varies from classic hard like quakewulf's maps to JESUS CHRIST JUST KILL ME AND TAKE THESE FUCKING GUNNERS, SHOTGUNNERS AND LAZARUS WITCHCRAFT OFF ME! like Loki's missions, neil manke, Jerk F Gustaffson maps or KMQuake exclusive stuff that relies heavily on lazarus like milous maps and the russian community stuff like legacy of doom series, which makes Sunlust and Sunder combined look like Doom episode 1 on Nightmare of how frustratingly hard it is.

also dawn of darkness, the Hexen ish mod for Q2(i think its preacher the name) that it has some good "what if Hexen 2 was made on Q2 engine along with Heretic 2 being 1st person again", there is the cancelled infinity: the kai ren threat which its source code never saw the daylight, mostly because this was a demo mod for a hand made game on Q2 engine, but the guys didn't found sponsoring, and it has some unique stuff like true manned turrets for death match and so on that you would see later in halo.

Q2 was literally a testbed for people learn C+ Language during college and later move on to Gaming or software companies, and there are tons of stuff that you would see in Q1 years later.
