Always wanted to play Chasm: The Rift but I could never get it to run in DOSbox, and the only "sourceports" existing are not "source" ports and are just more shitty russian recreations. Russians seem to love to play shitty bootlegs rather than the actual games.

>Redneck Rampage

the first game is cool but very flawed.
Too bad most people didn't play past the first game, because the add-on, Route on 66, does a great job at hiding the flaws; while the sequel, Rides Again, fixes most of these flaws, adds tons of cool stuff and has some excellent level design along the way

Duke>Blood>SW>Powerslave>Redneck Rampage Rides Again>Redneck Rampage>WWII GI>NAM

Still haven't played Witchaven 1 and 2 or Tekwar.

Redneck Rampage Deer Hunting is out of league because it's more of a hunting game than a FPS, but honestly it's really fun for what it is.

Extreme Paintball is out of league for being multiplayer only.

I'm running it Win7.
I'm using the Steam version and it ran perfectly without having to install any mod or anything. I think it's the same for the GOG version.

Apparently it used to be broken but they fixed it.

Only thing I had trouble with was fiddling with the settings, I have to play in software mode or else I get terrible latency and weird mouse control. I'm fine with that though as I don't like the smoothed out look of early 3D acceleration.

You're thinking about the other Powerslave, the one on console which is completely different game.

And also you're talking about the first Redneck Rampage, the add-on episode is for that one, pretty good add-on btw by the same devs who did add-ons for DN3D, SW and Blood, which does a great job at trying to hide the flaws of the original game.

Anyway I was talking about the 2nd RR game, which fixes most flaws of the original including some of the wonky enemy AI, and which has much better level design.
Cool points for the Motocross and swamp-vehicules levels.

I'd Redneck Rampage Rides Again In Arkansas is equally good with Exhumed (PC), but for different reasons, both have their qualities and flaws.

however I'd the first Redneck Rampage is definitely worse than Exhumed

The first game is hit or miss, some good stuff and some bad stuff as well.

The add-on, Route 66, done by the same devs who did the addons for Blood, SW, DN3D, etc, tries to hide the flaws of the original game as much as possible and does a good job at it.

The sequel, Rides Again, fixes most of the flaws of the original while having much better level design and adds tons of new cool shit like levels with driveable vehicules. It's very underrated imo, most people don't even know it exists and stopped at the average first game. The only thing that might not be as good is the soundtrack, because it doesnt have as many good songs, but nothing's stopping you to listen to the OST of the first game while playing the sequel.
pic related.

And no, there is no sourceport because the source was never released. There is a shitty fan made recreation of the game using an old version of EDuke32, that calls itself a "sourceport", but it's not. The AI and all behaviours were redone from scratch and are completely off. There is something about Russians and shitty recreations, I guess it has to do with the way they were brought up in a word of bootlegs.

The first RR is pretty average. It has tons of good (and some even great) things, but also tons of issues : glitches, some very poor levels, issues with keys (they're slow and it's hard to tell which keys open whats), overpowered titty bitches, etc

The addon, Route 66, is very well designed because it tries as much as it can to hide all those flaws and it works pretty well.

The sequel now, Rides Again In Arkansas, is an underrated masterpiece imo. It fixes most of the flaws of the original game. It has some of the best level design I've seen in Build and in 2.5D FPS in general (that fantastic factory level...), new enemies and weapons and the driveable motorbike and swamp vehicule are amazing.
Most people stopped at the first game and it's a shame. Most don't even know the sequel exists, tons of people even think it's an addon (which is like saying Doom 2 or Megaman 3 are addons)

Redneck Rampage Rides Again In Arkansas (sequel to the first RR).

Powerslave (aka Exhumed, people complain about the controls but I can share some tips to make it more playable)

Terminator Future Shock and Skynet

Redneck Rampage Rides Again In Arkansas, the sequel to Redneck Rampage, is very underrated too. It fixes most of the flaws of the original, has much better gameplay and level design than the original game, and has cool stuff like the driveable vehicules, etc

Most people stop at the first game, which to be honest is a good but very flawed game, not knowing that both the add-on and the sequel are much better.

Blood and Redneck Rampage have no sourceport and probably never ever will.

But they play really great in DOSbox. Though Blood is a little demanding and you need a good processor to run it at a good resolution (with my old 2,5ghz I could only run Blood at 320*200 to have 60FPS, but with my new 3,4ghz I can go up to 800*600).

Blood is a great game once you understand how to play it. Redneck Rampage is hit and miss, but the add-on 'Suckin Grits on Route 66' is better than the original and tries as best as it can to hide its flaws; and the sequel 'Rides Again In Arksansas' is very underrated and fixes most of the flaws of the original while bringing more to the table (pic related).

If you're not familiar with dosbox there are a few things you should know about configuring Blood once you buy the GoG version so don't be afraid to ask.

No, Redneck Rampage has no sourceport. The source never got released.

If you buy the GOG version, it's pretty much set up already aside from a couple of simple tweaking. Plus, for 5$ you also get the add-on to the first RR, as well as Rides Again In Arksansas, the sequel, which both are better than the original RR. Especially Rides Again is very underrated and fixes most flaws of the original game.

Yes, I've been playing the GOG version. 5$ for the 2 games + the add-on of the first one is totally worth it. (Especially for Rides Again, if you have to play ONE redneck rampage that' sthe ony you should play)
