GC face buttons feel the same as any other first party GC controller, start/select and shoulder buttons feel the same as an SNES controller.
D-pad is slightly firmer than my go-to SNES controller, but this is in all likelihood just from age and wear on the latter.

Same number of usable buttons as an SNES controller, Select is an additional Y.
