Why do you want games to be considered art so bad rather than just being games?

Any generation with enough years behind it will have a Nintendo slant. Soon people will be more vocal with how the WiiU shaped gaming even though it was a laughable console. It's why you see so much of a backlash against the PS2 now while the Gamecube doesn't get as much heat as it use to. There is a reason to why certain fans are viewed as cultists due to how much revisionism of histroy they do and their view of the quality of games on other platforms. They think a certain game was a massive break through when the arcades or personal computers were already doing it for a couple or a few years in advance.
