I swear the kiosk demo version of Sonic 2 at my Granny's SEARS had one of the rare beta copies of the game. I distinctly remember it loading up Genocide City, because I started a level, Sonic fell immediately to his death, and then the demo ended.

I also remember glitching the Knuckles cutscene between Angel Island and Hydrocity, to where Sonic kept falling. There were rocks at the bottom that kill you when you hit them.
