Even its Alpha selection is weak though, just Sakura/Rolento/Dan. No Charlie, no Rose, no Cody or Guy. Also the SFII choices are World Warriors + 4 Kings + Cammy, can't even get Fei or Hawk in there.

On top of that, it's CAPCOM vs SNK but every single character on their side but three are pulled from Street fighter, with Maki & Kyosuke being from SF-adjacent franchises. Couldn't even reuse MvC1 sprites and drop Captain Commando or Jin Saotome in there? SNK's side also has some weird omissions and very few non-KOF picks (Haohmaru/Naokoruru for SamSho, Hibiki for Last Blade, Todoh as a Fatal Fury rep that never had a playable role in KOF). SvC Chaos had a lot of problems but at the very least they had a handful of cool choices from outside of KOF & SF like Mars People, Red Arremer, pre-KOF Athena, and Zero before he was a Vs series staple (and in his MMZ design rather than the X series one). Still, it would've been cool to see SNK throw in World Heroes or something, or more SS/LB reps. Would've been even cooler to translate more of their non-fighting game characters from IPs like Sengoku or Shock Troopers into the genre. At least NG Battle Coliseum added Marco.
