I'm looking into getting a handheld, since they do appeal to me quite a lot, I only have one main issue with them, that I've had ever since I became an adult, and it's my hands, they're quite big and most handhelds I've used in my life time had relatively small buttons, I recall not liking the DS Lite and DSi for that reason, it's uncomfortable for me, and handhelds in general now feel quite small in my hands. What are some handhelds that feel good for people with bigger hands? In this case something with a form factor that accommodates to it and with big buttons too.

One thing that surprised me the most when getting back into playing retro, to experience my favorites from childhood, is that all of them were under an hour long to beat on average, I never beat them as a child, so I thought they were these massive and impossible tasks, but no, some of them were 15 minutes long, it made me feel ridiculous for never completing any of them, until I realized that this was the whole point of them, so I didn't have to feel bad for it, and then I beat them, and now that I'm more familiar with them all, I can comfortably beat them in minutes, or an hour.

You see, buying video games has always been expensive, if you adjust retro prices with inflation you'll see that they were even more expensive than now, and even today prices are tough, with US$70 likely becoming the future standard. The way prices are justified nowadays is with tons of content, campaigns that last for many hours, and it's all possible thanks to current hardware and media, back then developers could only do so much, but they needed to make it so you didn't beat it too easily, so they made it really hard, and many times had no passwords and continues.

I know many felt like this at some point in the past, you try out a retro video game, maybe one that you've been wanting to try for a long time, that many might consider a classic, or just one you have a personal interest in, from a particular franchise you like or wanted to try, and you go into it wanting to like, or you play it and find so much that wins you over and makes you want to like it even more... but you can't.

Maybe you were dissapointed, either because it's bad overall, or was good, but not good enough to live up to the hype that others or yourself built up before you played it, maybe you find it too difficult and/or unfair for your skill level and the fun you might have doesn't make up for the frustration of losing, especially if it sends you back to the beggining. Or maybe you just find it boring and/or forgettable.

I'm sure we all have that one video game that made us feel like this, or maybe even several, so I figured it could be fun for us to share and discuss these experiences, so, what were yours, anons? How did the experience go for you and what do you remember most from what you felt playing it? Do you have any plans of giving it a 2nd chance in the future or have you made up your mind about it completely?
