Are there any particular titles that you have an emotional childhood bond with? Something about playing nights makes me want to cry.

Recently I beat both the HD and PS2 remakes of this game. It seems that even after the latest patch, the HD version's controls are still less tight than the controls in the PS2 version. Too bad! Some turns/maneuvers are hard to pull off, but are easily done on the PS2 version. Ultimately I did manage to A Rank every stage on both versions.

Overall, it's a great game. Even on the HD version, the control is just fun. The major drawback are the gimmicks featured on the stages. Sometimes they're not too bad, but a lot of them break the flow of the game. They were probably added to show off the 3D at the time, which unfortunately hurts the game now that kind of thing is not new anymore.

just picked it up on steam and felt kinda meh about it. what are your thoughts for this game?

Am I missing something here? Back when Nights came out it got so much praise and I always thought I was missing out since I did not own a Saturn back in the day. So I recently got it on PSN and the graphics are great and the music is awesome, but holy shit the gameplay sucks. I could take only so much flying in a small circle before I had to turn it off. I figured there is more to the game as you progress, but I could not enjoy it enough to find out. Am I missing what makes this game good, or do others share my sentiment?
