Back during the 90s, I was a boomer with an age in the single digits. It seems like the current hardware market has a huge divide in performance against consoles. Was this always the case? I know the IBM PC didn't get Adlib until 1987. A lot of 80s computers seem to use the same (or similar) MOS 6502 CPU in them, which I assume meant similar performance. When did the big gap in PC vs. console performance happen?
