battlezone '98 is what you're looking for. FPS/RTS can be weird at first but it's very good.

Didn't really play many RTS games in the 90s beyond the absolute must haves/super popular ones like C&C, Starcraft, Age of Empires 2 etc.

Does pic related hold up? I'm thinking of getting it (freely downloadable now I think) but won't be able to play it for a few days. Wondered if it still holds up today, without nostalgia goggles.

I ask because I recently tried Ground Control from GoG and found the game quite lacking/samey and difficult to play compared to more recent games in the genre like company of heroes, dawn of war 2 and world in conflict (basically the game hasn't aged well, which I know isn't kosher to say here).

Well, this was a refreshing and unique experience. I'm about to start the Red Odyssey expansion. Heard there was a sequel but it wasn't as good. Anyways, what did you think of this game?

Hey /vr/, I'm sure some of you remember the game battlezone (the 1998 version, not the 1980's one)

Well it's a pretty kickass game, but I'm here to ask about a demo that I swear was on my battlezone disk, I would check but the disk is so scratched it won't work.

The demo was of some sort of RTS, and honestly I can't really remember a lot about it, but I remember playing the shit out of that demo. So I was just wondering if anyone knows what that demo was, I'd like to play the full game as I never got to as a kid.

I think there was an RTS demo on the Battlezone (1998) disk, anyone know what game it was?

Anyone else think Battlezone was way ahead of its time?
I don't recall ever having so much fun in any game after this one.
I seriously expected them to be shitting out sequels like it was nobody's business, but there was just Battlezone 2(which felt like a disappointment, to me at least), and then it disappeared.
