What's the cream of the crop for external upscalers at the moment? My CRT isn't going to last forever and I'm think I'm ready to move on to scaling solutions. My biggest reason for holding out this long is resolution switching. I've heard stuff like the Framemeister and OSSC have several second delays when the game changes it's resolution or from progressive to interlaced. What scaler handles those transitions the best?

If you play on a flat panel and don't have one of these, you might as well not play.

Is this the greatest innovation for the purpose of retro gaming? It feels like I'm finally not getting a gimped experience by playing on a UHD display
