Is there a big difference between the PC Engine models? I bought PC Engine Duo and is it worse than the Duo R?

How hard is it to mod a Duo for region free play? And can the system play CD-R games without any modification, like the Sega CD?

Have I completely missed the boat on Turbografx16/PC Engine collecting scene? Is everything too expensive already?

Is the superior option a Duo-RX or Duo-R? Is it too late without spending $400+? Then I have to mod and get it repaired correctly right? I want to do it right.

How is this on the emulation front? How is it on the Everdrive front?
