You prefer Mother 1? That's nice, I do too, but most people don't.
Still, I like Mother 2 a lot, too.

SoK is highly missable because the Starmen stop spawning once you defeat Starman DX, so you have to grind before getting to him.
I grinded for it on my playthrough on GBA, I wanted a 100% file with all the rare item drops. Getting the SoK didn't get that long because Starmen spawn all the time, so you can keep trying again and again very quickly.
The hardest/most time-consuming ones to get were the Magic Frypan on the lost underworld, which are only dropped by Chomposaurs, and the Gutsy Bat, which are only dropped by Bio Kraken on the last section of the game. But I got them too, after countless hours of grinding with the GBA on the bathroom, I tried several minutes everyday until it happened.
Funnily enough, I got the SoK randomly, without even thinking about it, in one of my playthroughs on SFC.
But yeah none of the rare drops are mandatory at all, they're just nice extra weapons. The magic frypan isn't even Paula's best weapon in terms of offense, although I think it has some advantages when it comes to PSI attacks, I think it boosted Paula's PP cap or something.

>Just gonna start mother 3 right now.
Good, leave this thread now and don't open any Mother threads until you finish that game.

Why is OP so based?
Starting a Mother thread with EB hate shitposting is the best way to let shitposters discharge on the first few posts and then we have a Mother thread, not a bad deal.
The guy who used to make daily anti-EB threads is probably still around and shitpost here, nobody cares anymore. The collectors will also come to shitpost about how it's a bad game because it's a shitty DQ ripoff that costs an arm and a leg (despite being able to learn japanese and play the original uncensored game for $20 or less).
Then there's not too many other people who cares about hating (or loving, for that matter, at least not like in 2008 when M3 eng patch released) anymore.

But did it always delete your saves? Ever happened to you that you get the message but the file isn't deleted?

Anyway I suspect this cart might have maybe battery issues because I bought it used, but all 3 file saves were empty when I first played it. It's normal with batteries that are like 20+ years old, but what weirded me out was that it didn't actually delete my file, despite getting the message.
