/vr/ - Retro Games

I know this is kind of a weird question, but how do you guys get over the old graphics and generalness of older PC games? I never grew up with PC outside of like Diablo, and I want to try to get into older games like Baldurs Gate, but it feels hard to get into compared to normal standard.

Is there a way I can look past and appreciate the game I am playing, or am I too fargone?

why is magic so hard

Should I skip BG1 and go straight to BG2? BG1 feels so tedious starting out.

Fucking hell, this is a genre I really want to get into. Why can't I cultivate the fortitude to sit down and play one?

Original BG1 or BG1 Enchanted edition?
I'd imagine most would prefer the original, but what's so special about ED anyways?
I've never before played BG1, but finished BG2 about a year ago (though didn't play throne of bhaal). So I'm figuring I'll start with BG1, tho tob is probably better.

Without a doubt, the greatest rpg in existence:

- A large row of characters, each with his own personality
- One of the best town ever
- A great sense of adventure, visit the Amn, the Underdark, an underwater town of fish-people
- Tons and tons of content
