This series is one of the worst in history for playability

The only reason it was a big deal back in the day was because of the pre-rendered backgrounds and slick for the time CGI and cutscenes. Anyone claiming they're good games is suffering from unaddressed stockholm syndrome.

Yeah yeah yeah, blah blah "But its survival horror, you're supposed to be uneasy". If only every garbage game could cover it's ass with such a claim. Total junk.

>is actually similar difficulty to SH1, maybe even easier because enemies are easier to avoid or stunlock
>still gives you more ammo than you can realistically go through, unless maybe if you want to kill absolutely everything
>bosses die in 1-5 hits from a grenade launcher, not much harder with shotgun
>so many herbs that you stop picking them up halfway through the game
>limited inventory is just an annoyance, because you're less than 3 minutes of running from the nearest chest at all times

Why are many people considering it to be the better game?

Man, those fucking enemies that roam the house later in the game are fucking hard to deal with.

what's the absolute best version of pic related? I read somewhere that there's an iso of the ps1 dual shock version patched with the OG soundtrack but I don't know where to search for it. also is the PSN PS4 version good?

I'd like to replay all of the classic RE titles but RE1 has me stumped on which version to get

Is this series supposed to be scary? The controls are more frustrating than the horror stings are frightening.

Pic very related. The whole damn series. Even RE4 which is a pretty good game is still extremely overrated.
