>Where to buy
Aliexpress, gogamegeek, litnxt, keepretro, mechdiy

>What to know about brands
Retroid: Well built, powerful, but expensive (100$+)
Anbernic: Balance between price, power and build quality. Many available products
Powkiddy: Cheap, low quality builds, interesting shapes (square, clamshell, big screen)
Miyoo: One hit wonder
Game Console: Copycat popular products with low prices
TrimUI: Good build quality, shitty software with no good CFW alternatives

>Things I need to know
- Handhelds come with low quality SD cards. Throw them away and buy new ones.
- It takes some tinkering, specially linux devices.
- Overall quality of these products is very cheap.
- Reviewers get free handhelds, caveat emptor.

This thing is hella scuffed, ngl
>the sides of the device are perfectly smooth when folded, which means when you open it up, the edges of the two halves of the device end up feeling sharp
>because it's perfectly flat, and the charging light is on the side of the device, you can't see if the device is done charging without opening it up first
>DS cartridge barely fits into the slot, and pressing it doesn't make it pop out, forcing me to physically pull it out with my nail
>the molding of the case has a bunch of imperfections, with a sizeable plastic tumor on the border of the touch screen
>the touch screen has a TON of micro-abrasions, like little pock marks sprinkled all over it; I thought it was dust until I tried wiping it away
>the screws are rusty as fuck
>the speakers are off-center
>The Start and Select are different heights from each other
>the top screen looks weird; like a 3DS when you turn the 3D slider all the way up, except without the 3D. I'm guessing it's just a super-bad TN panel, since it looks fine at a really specific angle
But hey, I tried out Zuma, and it played just fine, so it's good enough for gaming I guess. Not bad for $37.
