That sort of thing wasn't entirely unique to the 3DO though. The Twin Famicom and the Wondermega were both made by Sharp and JVC respectively. Although you could make the argument that the 3DO was different for doing so with the main console.

A thread talking about the Atari ST inspires me to ask this question: What would you like to see in a hypothetical ultimate 16-bit console? Which hardware and feature from 16-bit consoles and computers would you add to it?

It’s not even a contest, the first model Megawonder was by far the best looking console ever released. Ironically, I’d say the model 2/X’EYE rate on the lower half of looks overall. Just an ugly cheap look with bad colors even if it’s still wonderfully well built.

Swap the PSX with the PSOne and you’d have an ok PS ranking, but I always hated minimalist toyish redesigns like it and the model 3 Genesis. >>4715910 gets a small pass because it’s something of a compromise between the Super Famicom and NTSC SNES.

What is your grail?

The one item that you've always wanted, but could never find or afford?

Do you still plan on getting it, or have you given up?

Apparently the WonderMega is the only Mega Drive system that can output S-Video, and can probably become my go to Mega drive model that isn't a model 1
