What controllers are your preference when it comes to the NES?

I bought a NES MAX yesterday cos I really want turbo controllers (and some ergonomics would be nice) but I cant stand the weird Control pad. It has a dead zone and requires you to use more force on it for results.

Lets see some good alternatives especially 3rd party controllers. I always worry about them sucking
