I don’t know. It wasn’t a very big deal. Only a million or so sold, something like that. I remember seeing commercials on TV for it. But just around the time it launched, not much after that, an announcement they slashed the price to $99, then just some magazine ads.

Seemed like NEC wasn’t going to put much effort into the system. And when it didn’t succeed immediately they just gave up.
