Realm of the Haunting is another good unconventional adventure game. Developed in 1997 by Gremlin Interactive it used the same 3d engine as Normality, an adventure game Gremlin had developed the previous year. What made Realms of the Haunting interesting, aside from the detailed environments and well executed story, was that it incorporated first person shooter gameplay.

It's not the scariest thing ever, but Realms of the Haunting has a neat haunted mansion to explore along with some other more surreal areas.
