Testing them out, I think I like the flop version most. The twitch one is just too... uh, twitchy, despite already increasing the frame time.
I like the detail of how when the eyes glow brightest everything else gets darker.
I will post a webm of the twitch version next.
Maybe you could make the eye glow on the second frame a tad brighter? That way you could get a smoother glow-up instead of that flash.
