Since two screens would drive up the cost and be a QC nightmare, and they'd likely fuck up the hinges and/or ergonomics, the best option for DS/3DS emulation for the foreseeable future will likely be a phone sitting in one of those clip on controllers in portrait orientation. Never tried picrel, it looks pretty shitty actually, but shows the general idea.

In fact... If you're going to have a retro handheld powered by Android (Retroid, etc.) why not just use a phone clipped into a controller?
