The spinslash is easily the best weapon in the game, it can instantly melt a boss's hp and is just useful in general to hit everything around you while in a tight spot (ex: that infamous jump from 6-2). If you ever need to coserve ammo for it you can press down+b in the air in order to do a regular slash instead.
