Honestly not really. Third-party Nintendo S-Video cables are especially shit for some reason, they almost always exhibit checkerboarding. If you're savvy with a soldering iron you can make your own cable from one of the shit doner cables, and wire the audio separately, which is what I did before getting into RGB.

So finally my S-video cable arrived today and i wanna test if i got a good or bad one, ive read the way to test it is looking for a checkered pattern on solid colors like pic related, however, i dont have an N64 only Snes and Gamecube.

So whats a game i can look for that checkered pattern with? i have the most common Snes games, Marios, Zelda, Contra, Metroid, Gamecube i have all of them since its chipp modded.

How do you avoid checkerboard patterns with S-Video?

/vr/ I have a question about s-video cables. This morning I read about checker boarding on cheaper cables so I got close to my TV and checked and sure enough I have diagonal lines clearly visible on all the bright solid colors. Now its really bothering me. I know its the cables, but does anyone know where I can get good s-video cables for SNES/n64/GC ?
