>Zoomers have a completely warped picture of what the 80’s was really like because of trannywave.
Which I just don't understand. I could see the misunderstanding if my generation were all inexplicably gone, but we're not. We're still here and telling you what it was like, complete with pictures from our childhoods. The internet is a veritable ocean of old scanned pics from the eighties, especially with the retro craze currently happening. Does any of that look like your favorite "Miami Nights Outrun" playlist? Unless we happen to be standing in the middle of a Chess King or a Gadzooks, then no it doesn't.

The country wasn't torn down and rebuilt in hot pink and electric blue on January 1, 1980.

And the deafening silence was only occasionally broken by the lone sound of one anon, desperately beating on Google like it owes him money, trying to teach himself the equivalent of an EE degree in just a few minutes in order to avoid admitting he was larping on a website dedicated to New Caledonian fingerpuppet theatre.

>3DO’s Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties
And other "games" the kiddos had never heard of until their favorite talking head on Yewtewb told them all about it with some fart jokes and dirty words All this and so much more, tonight on nu-/vr/! See the kiddos larp like they knew about this game before the AVGN video. Watch as they pretend they're old enough to have ever seen a 3DO, let alone anything that came before it. Be amazed when they start larping at each other and having arguments over shit that happened in the eighties despite both of them being born in '02! Just like watching two foreigners have a conversation in English when neither of them actually speak it!

Good times.

Yes. I, too, wish Infogrames would stop trolling and just let Atari rest. No more "previously unreleased" games. No more Denny's tie-ins. ("Hashteroids?" Are you fucking kidding me?) No more overpriced mid-range Linux boxes shaped like a 2600. No more Atari-themed hotels in fucking Dubai. Stop parading the corpse of my childhood around like some even more bizarre version of Weekend at Bernie's.

>Is mid-80s the perfect time to be born?
I was born in the late seventies, and contend that it's the best time to have been born. My first experiences were with the 2600 and 800, and I still love them both to this day. Nintendo came around just a short time later and, as much as I loved them too, I don't have the crippling nostalgia for them that compels me to spend thousands of dollars on Nintendo stuff. Instead I get to spend tens of dollars on Atari stuff to scratch the childhood nostalgia itch. Thankfully my market of choice wasn't overrun with people my own age trying to relive the good old days or Gen Z kids desperately trying to impress their parents and peers with their feigned maturity in liking old plastic that predates them by decades.

>Yeah, the granddaddy of home computing.
That no one had at home because no one could afford the fucking things, especially when compared to the Atari 8-bits and the C64. You had these at school to play Oregon Train and Number Munchers, as your school could actually afford to buy these stupid things. Keep this in mind for your future larp attempts.

I'm not the copefag lol. I'm just worried that if you take anymore of Matei's dick that it's gonna trigger your gag reflex and Mikey's gonna lose that big ten incher forever. If you really want to whiteknight this dude, at least go where he can see you. All I'm trying to say. You might even end up in a new Loco Bandito comic. Wouldn't that just be the highlight of your life?

I can't even imagine how embarrassed you must feel right now, even on an anonymous imageboard. How many times you've smashed the report button desperately trying to get the thread deleted. It's been a long time since I've seen someone get utterly blown the fuck out as hard as you have by this thread.

Really, man, you just need to pity them. They're pitiable.

Imagine what it must have been like for them to have failed so spectacularly at everything else in their lives that being good at a video game was all they had left. Imagine what it must've felt like when their sad little /vg/ clubhouse fell apart - after they'd chased away any potential new blood that might've been impressed by their vidya exploits, and then collectively realized they couldn't stand being in a community of people just as useless, bitter, and obsessed as they were. Imagine having to come back to /vr/ not for the usual "raids" but in a desperate attempt to find some "jarpigs" with whom to continue their meaningless vidya genre war. Imagine having to do that in order to validate your obsessive "hobby" to yourself. Imagine being so emotionally frail and socially insufferable that 4chan was your last bastion on the Internet - the last place you hadn't been banned, and even then only because you technically couldn't be.

Honestly, with all this in mind, do you really care if one of them calls a "jarpig" or whatever?

>i'm a larping kiddo
>because of this, you should stop liking things i don't like
Of course there's minimal discussion of Atari/INTV/whatever here. Most of you aren't old enough to have been around for it, and thus have little interest in it.
>Odyssey2 (which I owned)
When? A couple of years ago when you found one cheap at a tag sale or flea market while you were out looking for that Little Samson you didn't find?
>So to all the /vr/ people wondering why there's no heavy discussion of this era
Absolutely no one was wondering. The reasons are pretty obvious.
