I have mixed feelings about that, because what ultimately turned me away from the series was how modern the settings were becoming. I was into the series for the sword and sorcerery aspect, and the further away each game gets from those roots the less I care for it.

Your picture is shit, but FF6 actually did improve in the translation in one way. Kefka's original character was just a childish brute who swore a lot, but Woosley gave him a lot of clever dialog and personality.

Consequently, Japan doesn't really get why Kefka's supposed to be a great villain, whereas in the US he's considered one of the classics.

Here's my problem with FFIV:

>gain party member
>party member temporarily leaves party (with equipment)
>regain party member
>repeat
>repeat
>permanently lose party member

And it happens with every motherfucker you meet. It's insufferable. I loved the game, I'm not saying it isn't great, but that shit gets my goat.
