Mostly adventures, but some ARPGs are similar enough that they give off Zelda feels. My favorite are the Oasis games. They're more like Zelda mixed with a brawler than mixed with an RPG but they're both super fun. Beyond maybe even more so.

I haven't played the collections but genesis emulates pretty easily and I've run that game fine on just a psp. So play whatever version and it will likely be good.

Well worth it too, beyond oasis is fantastic. That is, if you want a game that's like a mix between Zelda and a brawler, because that's pretty much what it is. Light on puzzles, heavy on action. Cool weapons, cool elementals with cool attacks, awesome bosses, a 100 floor bonus dungeon... It's good stuff.

Same here except I got a SNES first. I think both are great systems and well worth owning but the Genesis library had more games overall that I really got into.
