For instance, these are what I have determined to be the most optimal settings for general use for PCSX-R's included OpenGL plugin.

Use these settings, but use a widescreen resolution, and enable GTE accuracy for less jitter. If you use PCSX-R, you can use a widescreen hack, which makes 3D games actually widescreen.

Never heard of that input plugin. It's a longshot, but try using another. I recommend PCSX2's lilypad.

Also, if you're gonna use that video plugin, use these settings.

If you want something that just werks, Xebra or RetroArch's Mednafen-PSX core are what you want.

If you're all about MUH GRAPHICS, get the latest SVN of PCSX-R from EmuCR, use the OpenGL plugin if comes bundled with, and use these settings. Outside of a few corner cases and games that require "special fixes", this will work very nicely. A big reason for many people getting bad results boils down to bad plugin configuration. These settings ensure the greatest possible compatibility.

But again, if you don't want to deal with plugins, Xebra or RetroArch is what you want.

>Silent Hill

Try these settings. Try out the GTE Accuracy option at the bottom to reduce polygon jitter if you'd like. Just don't tell the resident SH purist on /vg/, because it cleans up a lot of the dithering, which he would say makes it look too bright and clean for a gritty game like Silent Hill.
