Maybe because they made it and so can suggest to a user the manner in which they expected it to be used/viewed/enjoyed?
It's like a painter telling somebody you might enjoy a painting better if you looked at it with your own eyes instead of having somebody else describe it to you over the phone.

A better analogy would be the person who conceptualized furniture in the first place coming to your house and telling you it's better to use a chair for sitting on it instead of as kindling for a fire.
