There's no save file, so I never got very far into the game. So I assumed it was like Zelda, and the game was this vast open world full of secrets and interesting challenges if only I could get to it.

Then I played it with save states, and turns out it's just Sabre Wulf with a bad FPS slapped onto it.

It used to be a fad with licensed games, especially from devs in the home computer scene (or who started out there). They always turned out kind of shit.
