Of course they have CRT pictures on the back because that's what they knew consumers were stuck with. The magazines and the NES carts show what Nintendo envisioned the games could ideally look like even though displays of the time weren't good enough.

That's an illustration showing what the world of Mario could look like as a cartoon. It's not concept art, but it's function is similar. To show an artists concept of what the world the video game could look like.

This is from a manual to show the player what the actual graphics in game are like.

Then explain why when they show the game graphics in the manual for the Famicom versions of their own games they show them as clear pixels with sharp edges.
