Why is dark wizard always left out? I found it superior to shining force CD in almost every possible way. Shining CD was stripped down bare bones game gear port and I felt cheated when I first rented it back when it was new. It was vastly inferior to SF1 or 2 and brought nothing new or memorable. They stripped out the towns and most of the RPG elements of the game due to gamegear limitations, and then just dumped it onto a CD as a recycled cash grab. I have gone back to replay SF1 & 2 several times since their release, but I have not touched CD version since the day I returned it to the rental store as it had zero replay value.

Dark wizard was like a hybrid of shining force meets "master of monsters", and your hero units were joined with monster units that all grew and evolved. There were also four different campaigns that gave unique play throughs from each other and offered a huge difference in difficulty.

The anime cutscenes were nice and CD orchestra music made it feel like an actual sega CD game.
