The extra content of I is definitely worth sticking around for. A couple of extra bosses alone are harder than the entirety of NES/PS1 Hard Mode FFI. Even better, the extra content alone is better than entire FFs that came after it.

The only part of the original NES version is going through the shop to buy items or knowing which spells are broken or literally not working as intended. The game per se is easy as piss in every version they just made it less cumbersome. I will always miss the spaceship themed floating temple, though.
