> Why were magazines like this?

Age 7: buying game/mag because Mario is on the cover
Age 15: buying game/mag because naked chick is on the cover
Age 30: buying game/mag because anime girl is on the cover (she may be clothed but naked is always welcome)

That's just selling your shit 101 anon. Know your audience.

It's the last level of the eighth Sonic game to be released. It's reasonable to assume that a player may have picked up the basic mechanics by that point.

I'm playing vidya for nearly 25 years now and still can't grasp the basic things. When it comes to finding good strategy to defeat boss or tough enemy, I usually just panic and mash buttons in hope I'll drain their HP faster than they would drain mine. If it's a 3D game, I'm often doing ritual dances around the boss' space, running away from him and missing my chance to attack.

When I'm trying to avoid bullet, I dodge in such way that I actually avoid it, but my brain can't register it that quickly, so I'm doing extra step back and catch the bullet. Same with tight platform jumping.

Old arcade games like Pac-Man, Clu Clu Land or Outrun require certain way of operating your own reflexes to be successful at them, like, you need get used to input timing and mechanics but I can't. Is there a way to force yourself into this kind of thinking somehow, to get a sharp eye and quick reaction, like bullet hell players do?
Retro vidya is my entire life, I wanna be good at them.

Just playing said games don't really work.
