I was too young to grow up with games like Daytona, Sega Rally, Ridge Racer, etc. Could you explain the differences between these games to me please? They all seem like the same "realistic driving sim" kind of game to me.
I'm not really much of a racing guy anyways, so I haven't played modern racers like NfS/GT/Forza either, so I don't really know what they're like either, but from what I've gathered, is that the older games are more "arcadey" in terms of physics or something, and modern games try to more accurately replicate IRL driving... but again, when it comes to the individual franchises, I've no idea what really, truly sets them apart. What makes Daytona different from Ridge Racer and what makes them different from modern racers, etc etc etc?
